Job Description

Job Title: Quality Check & Quality Control (QC/QA) Manager


Company: SNN Foods Private Limited

Industry: Spices & Masala Manufacturing

Location: Bangalore



Role Overview


The QC/QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards across raw materials, production processes, and finished goods. This role is critical in maintaining product consistency, safety, regulatory compliance, and export readiness for global markets.



Key Responsibilities


1. Raw Material Inspection


* Inspect and approve incoming raw materials (spices, herbs, packaging materials).

* Verify quality parameters such as aroma, color, texture, and purity.

* Coordinate with procurement to reject substandard materials.



2. Production Quality Control


* Monitor quality standards during all stages of production.

* Ensure adherence to defined SOPs and hygiene practices.

* Work closely with the production team to correct deviations in real-time.



3. Packaging Quality Assurance


* Ensure packaging materials meet quality and safety standards.

* Check labeling accuracy, sealing quality, and batch coding.

* Maintain consistency in final product presentation.



4. Sensory Evaluation


* Conduct sensory analysis (taste, aroma, color, texture) of finished spice products.

* Maintain benchmark standards for all SKUs.

* Approve or reject finished batches based on defined quality criteria.



5. Documentation & Compliance


* Maintain all quality-related documentation, including:

  * Batch records

  * Inspection reports

  * Test certificates

* Ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times.



6. Certifications & Standards


* Lead implementation and maintenance of ISO standards (ISO 22000 / HACCP).

* Prepare the company for additional certifications required for exports (FSSAI, BRC, US FDA, etc.).

* Coordinate with certification bodies and auditors.



7. Export Quality & Documentation


* Ensure compliance with international quality standards for export markets.

* Manage export-related quality documentation such as:

  * COA (Certificate of Analysis)

  * MSDS

  * Product specifications

* Coordinate with external agencies for required certifications and approvals.



8. External Laboratory Coordination


* Liaise with third-party laboratories for product testing.

* Ensure timely sample submission and report collection.

* Follow up with management and production teams on test results and corrective actions.



9. Cross-Functional Coordination


* Work closely with:

  * Production team (for process improvements)

  * Procurement team (for supplier quality)

  * Management (for reporting and decision-making)

* Ensure all quality-related actions are implemented effectively.



10. Continuous Improvement


* Identify gaps in quality systems and suggest improvements.

* Implement best practices in food safety and quality assurance.

* Drive a culture of quality across the organization.



Qualifications & Skills


* Bachelor’s/Master’s in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.

* 5+ years of experience in food/spices manufacturing.

* Strong knowledge of quality standards and certifications (ISO, HACCP, FSSAI).

* Experience in export documentation and international compliance.

* Good understanding of sensory evaluation techniques.

* Strong coordination and follow-up skills.

* Ability to work with external labs and certification agencies.
