Senior Merchandiser

Looking for a Senior Merchandiser in the garment/fashion industry acts as the crucial link between buyers, design teams, and production, managing the end-to-end product life cycle from development to shipment. They lead teams to ensure on-time delivery, quality assurance, and profitability (costing/negotiation), usually requiring 5–10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Order & Vendor Management: Managing client communication, receiving orders, and negotiating with suppliers to optimize costs.
• Product Development & Sampling: Coordinating proto, fit, and pre-production samples (PPS) with design teams, ensuring lab dips and material approvals are met.
• Time & Action (T&A) Planning: Creating and monitoring detailed schedules to ensure timely material procurement and production, mitigating delays in fabric or trim sourcing.
• Production & Quality Control: Monitoring bulk production (knitting, dyeing, sewing) to ensure adherence to buyer standards and AQL (Acceptable Quality Level).
• Logistics & Shipment: Coordinating final inspections, packing, documentation, and shipping for timely delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5–10 years in garment merchandising, often at an export house or fashion brand.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, or related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric, and manufacturing processes.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant ERP/merchandising software.
• Leadership: Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
