Job Description

Job Title: Hiring Manager – Blue Collar Workforce

Location: Bangalore (with frequent travel across India)

Reporting To: Head of Operations / COO

Department: Talent Acquisition – Field Workforce



Role Overview

The Hiring Manager – Blue Collar Workforce will be responsible for building and scaling Zobocon’s field workforce across multiple cities and rural catchments in India.

This role goes beyond conventional hiring — it involves creating a structured, repeatable, and high-volume talent acquisition engine focused on sourcing freshers (with basic education) and experienced painters from semi-urban and rural regions.

The role will lead a distributed team of recruiters operating in different states, with strong on-ground access to villages and local talent pools. The hired workforce will be trained through Brushline™, Zobocon’s structured skill development platform, to meet execution standards.

The success of this role will directly impact Zobocon’s ability to scale execution capacity reliably across India.



Key Responsibilities

1. Blue Collar Hiring Engine (Core Role)

  • Build and execute hiring plans for painters, helpers, and fresh entrants.
  • Source candidates from villages, small towns, and local networks.
  • Design scalable hiring channels: local agents, referrals, camps, partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Ensure steady pipeline aligned with project demand across cities.



2. Field Recruitment Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage a distributed team of field recruiters across multiple states.
  • Ensure each recruiter has deep local reach and strong village-level access.
  • Set clear targets, monitor productivity, and drive accountability.
  • Standardize hiring processes while allowing local flexibility.



3. Rural & Grassroots Talent Network Building

  • Develop long-term sourcing networks in rural and semi-urban areas.
  • Build relationships with local influencers, contractors, training institutes, and communities.
  • Create trust-based hiring ecosystems to ensure continuous supply.



4. Hiring Process Design & Efficiency

  • Design simple, fast, and scalable hiring workflows suitable for blue-collar candidates.
  • Minimize drop-offs across sourcing → selection → onboarding.
  • Ensure documentation, verification, and onboarding processes are streamlined.



5. Training Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with training teams to align hiring with training capacity.
  • Ensure candidates are mobilized and ready for training programs.
  • Maintain quality of intake aligned with training and deployment requirements.



Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of hires per month vs. target
  • Cost per hire and sourcing efficiency
  • Joining ratio (offer → actual onboarding)
  • 30/60/90-day retention rates
  • Time-to-fill for manpower requirements
  • Productivity of field recruiters



Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in blue-collar / mass hiring, preferably in construction, logistics, manufacturing, or staffing.
  • Experience in managing distributed field recruitment teams.
  • Good understanding of rural hiring ecosystems and grassroots sourcing.
  • High ownership mindset with execution focus.
  • Comfortable with extensive travel and on-ground engagement.

Salary and Perks

3.6-6.0 Lakhs per annum + Incentives and Bonus.
