Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commis Chef with 6–7 years of hands-on experience in preparing authentic Italian or Continental dishes. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, quality-driven, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. This role is suited for someone who understands the essence of European cuisine and thrives in a collaborative culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Italian or Continental dishes with precision and consistency
- Assist senior chefs in food preparation and kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Ensure proper stock rotation and minimize wastage
- Follow recipes, plating guidelines, and portion control
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely and quality food service
- Support mise-en-place preparation for various sections
Requirements:
- 6–7 years of proven experience in Italian and/or Continental cuisine
- Strong understanding of classical cooking techniques and European flavors
- Familiar with pasta, pizza, sauces, meats, seafood, and modern plating styles
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holiday
