DevOps Engineer | Cloud Infrastructure, CI/CD Automation & Security Expertise
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions. This role is pivotal in fostering continuous integration and delivery practices, automating deployment pipelines, and ensuring high availability of applications across cloud and on-premise environments. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to streamline workflows and support organizational digital transformation initiatives.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
- Automation and configuration management tools: Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent — proven expertise in automating infrastructure and deployment workflows
- Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP — extensive experience deploying and managing infrastructure in a cloud environment
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes — experience in container orchestration and deployment at scale
- Version control: Git — mastery in managing code repositories, branching, and release workflows
- Monitoring & logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Logstash, or similar — skills in system observability and troubleshooting
Preferred Software Skills:
- Security tools: Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub — knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
- Infrastructure as Code tools: CloudFormation, ARM templates — for cloud resource provisioning
- Scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell — automation and scripting proficiency
Overall Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software deployment processes
- Design, provision, and manage scalable and secure cloud and on-premise infrastructure solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure automation into application development cycles
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively
- Implement security and compliance best practices across all infrastructure components
- Drive continuous process improvements, automation, and infrastructure optimization initiatives
- Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to ensure consistency and repeatability
- Stay abreast of emerging DevOps tools, automation trends, and cloud innovations to implement best practices
Technical Skills (By Category)
- Programming Languages:
- Essential: Python, Bash, PowerShell — for scripting and automation tasks
- Preferred: Groovy, Ruby — optional for specific automation tools
- Cloud Technologies:
- Deep experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
- Databases & Data Management:
- Familiarity with cloud-native databases and data storage solutions such as RDS, Cloud SQL, or DynamoDB
- Frameworks and Libraries:
- Use of infrastructure-as-code frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Development Tools and Methodologies:
- Strong command of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI; Agile, DevOps practices
- Security Protocols:
- Knowledge of identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance standards
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation
- Demonstrated success implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation solutions, and cloud infrastructure management
- Experience with enterprise-scale environments and hybrid cloud solutions preferred
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize deployment processes in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Day-to-Day Activities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated CI/CD pipelines
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure and container orchestration solutions
- Collaborate with developers to integrate automation into application build and release cycles
- Monitor system health, security, and performance; conduct incident analysis and resolution
- Implement infrastructure changes, updates, and security patches proactively
- Document infrastructure configurations, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines
- Evaluate new DevOps tools and practices, recommending improvements aligned with organizational strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer) preferred
- Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines and scalable infrastructure solutions
- Ongoing commitment to learning emerging DevOps tools, cloud platforms, and security practices
