Cyber Managed Service – Database Security – Senior

As a senior database security operations analyst, you will manage ensuring the secure and efficient operation of the organization's database environment. Your ability in database security operations will be vital in monitoring, managing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing best practices to safeguard sensitive data. You will collaborate with IT and security teams to support compliance with regulatory standards, conduct vulnerability assessments, and refine security configurations to support business continuity and protect against data breaches.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the operational management of database security services, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of database environments.
• Develop, support, and enforce operational procedures and documentation for database security management, including access controls and encryption protocols.
• Collaborate with database engineering and architecture teams to support the implementation of database security solutions and integrations.
• Perform regular system health checks, check database security performance, and conduct capacity planning to ensure best security posture.
• Coordinate with IT and security teams to ensure database operations align with security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Mentor junior operations support analysts and contribute to their professional development in database security practices.
• Manage database security features such as user access controls, auditing, and encryption mechanisms.
• Function as an escalation point for high-impact operational issues related to database security and provide strategic recommendations for enhancements.
• Lead operational support tasks, including system monitoring, user provisioning, access reviews, and troubleshooting of security-related incidents.
• Implement and support operational procedures and documentation for database security services, including disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with the database engineering team to transition new security features and services into production, ensuring operational readiness.
• Conduct regular operational reviews and audits to find and remediate potential security gaps or inefficiencies in database environments.
• Drive the automation and optimization of operational processes to enhance database security reliability and reduce manual workload.
• Mentor junior operations analysts and contribute to the development of training materials and best practices in database security.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience in database security operations, with a strong emphasis on securing various database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Demonstrated experience in incident response, vulnerability assessment, and problem-solving within a database security context.
• In-depth knowledge of database security principles, encryption technologies, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills related to database security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a record of successful engagement with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Work Requirements:

• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Willingness to be on call support engineer and work occasional overtime as needed.
• Willingness to work in shifts as needed.
