Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Power BI & Snowflake Data Analyst/Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level analytics and reporting solutions. This role involves creating high-quality dashboards, models, and data pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Power BI, SQL/PLSQL, and Snowflake, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, accurate, and secure business intelligence solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Software Requirements

Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI for creating dashboards, reports, and datasets.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and PLSQL for complex query development, optimization, and data manipulation.

• Extensive experience working with Snowflake for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning.

• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas.

• Experience integrating Power BI with various enterprise data sources and cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines.

• Skills with data security practices, role-based access, and governance standards.

Preferred:

• Certifications in Power BI, Snowflake, or cloud analytics platforms.

• Knowledge of Azure or other cloud ecosystems for analytics deployment.

• Experience with data automation tools, e.g., Data Factory, SSIS.

Overall Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets to meet business and leadership needs.

• Build optimized data models using DAX, Power Query, and best practices for data visualization.

• Write and optimize complex SQL/PLSQL queries to support reporting and analytics requirements.

• Leverage Snowflake data platform for efficient data extraction, transformation, and data warehouse management.

• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and provide scalable BI solutions.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and performance across all dashboards and reports.

• Implement and enforce BI governance, standards, and documentation.

• Continuously seek process improvements, performance optimization, and new features/dataset enhancements.

Programming Languages:

• Essential: SQL (PLSQL, T-SQL), DAX, Power Query

• Preferred: Python for automation or advanced data manipulation

• Essential: Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar databases

• Preferred: NoSQL systems (e.g., MongoDB) for additional data integrations

Cloud Technologies:

• Preferred: Snowflake cloud data platform, Azure, AWS for analytics deployment

Frameworks & Libraries:

• Essential: Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL

• Preferred: Azure Data Factory, Dataflows, Python for scripting

Development Tools & Methodologies:

• Essential: Power BI Desktop, SQL Management Studio, Git, Agile/Scrum workflows

• Preferred: Data pipeline orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, Prefect)

Security & Governance:

• Understanding of role-based access control, data masking, and compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise BI, analytics, or data engineering initiatives.

• Proven track record developing and deploying Power BI dashboards and reports for large-scale organizations.

• Extensive experience working with Snowflake and complex SQL/PLSQL queries.

• Demonstrated ability to optimize data models and ensure data governance.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including business, data engineering, and architecture in Agile environments.

• Industry experience in finance, healthcare, retail, or enterprise analytics preferred; open to relevant large-scale projects.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets to meet evolving business needs.

• Write, optimize, and validate complex SQL/PLSQL queries supporting reporting and analytics.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.

• Monitor data quality, improve data models, and implement best practices for security and governance.

• Support data collection, validation, and ad-hoc analytics requests from users across the organization.

• Perform performance tuning, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to dashboards and underlying queries.

• Document architecture, data flows, and standards, ensuring compliance and ease of maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level Power BI reporting and Snowflake data platforms.

• Relevant certifications (Power BI Certification, Snowflake SnowPro, cloud analytics certifications) are advantageous.

• Excellent analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Strong communication abilities for stakeholder management and technical documentation.
