About the Role
As Project Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of several stakeholders in the Connectivity Delivery Project Management Organization. Assigned to the Delivery Project Management Organization you will support the software program managers, Defect Managers and line managers.
This role is very broad, ranging from setting up simple project pages to general planning and tool support. A key task is the creation of standardized reports, typically for project status, statistics, etc., generated from specialized tools like ALM or their exported data. Programming skills are required to create these reports quickly and consistently.
Your Team
The Process Engineer will report to the Director, Engineering Project and will typically be assigned to multiple projects. This position does not have any direct reports.
What You Will Do
- Support of the Delivery Project Management Organization
- Setting up and updating project content
- Supporting in Licensing topics
- Supporting FOSS topics
- Setting up basic project management structure for new projects (e.g. ALM, Jira, Conflunece, MS Teams, Sharepoint, basic milestone plans, several other tools)
- Create metrics, e.g. ticket creation, processing
- Supporting the global project management/defect management strategies and processes, specifically supporting and collaborating with the software project management team
- Support and collaboration in setting up, improving, changing processes within the department and interfaces outside the department
- Tool Support / Tool Expert for e.g. ALM/RQM, DNG, ELVIS-Tool, Inventory (Power Tool), external PO's, Jira, Confluence ...
- Reporting Support: Creation of fast, standardized reports from the corresponding data sources such as ALM, ELVIS, ...
- Cooperation with the Delivery department and the Resource Managers
- Assistance with the planning, input and evaluation of data
- Supporting managers in cost and personnel estimation through data input, reports and analyses
- Regularly analyze and adopt best practices and synergies for current and future projects
What You Need
- University degree in engineering (electrical engineering, information technology) or a comparable degree
- Experience with SW development projects and processes.
- Experience in PMO/PSO or other project support role preferred.
- Experience and good skills in working with software tools in general (JIRA, Confluence, bug tracking software, Excel, ALM, …).
- High sense of responsibility, can work independently.
- Able to push forward topics, decisions and escalations in heterogeneous teams.
- Able to abstract complex topics, to derive generic and simple concepts as solutions.
- Ability to analyze, to communicate and to present.
- Ability to work structured, precisely, creatively and under pressure.
- Experience/understanding of configuring, implementing and establishing solutions in tools for Test Mgmt., Requirements Mgmt., Incident Mgmt., Continuous Integration and Software Configuration Management
- Experience with quality related methodologies (DFMEA, FBA, Risk Analysis, LL, 8D…)
- Proactive approach to getting things done and taking responsibility and ownership
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure, flexible and focused during times of change
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset
- Team Player with structured and logical thinking
- Programming and software knowledge in e.g. C++, C#, Python, MySQL, Java, Linux/Unix-Shell, MS-Office
- Very good English skills (written and spoken)
What is Nice to Have
- PMP Certificate and ASPICE knowledge
- Experience in software project management methods, processes, SW development processes
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM
- Experience in project support role preferred.
- Knowledge in ALM is beneficial.
- Knowledge in SW Licensing is beneficial.
- Knowledge in FOSS is beneficial.
