Essential Job Functions

 

An SAP Basis professional is responsible for ensuring the effective management, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems, especially in environments that integrate cloud solutions and advanced SAP tools. This person is also responsible in helping organizations transition to and optimize their SAP environments under the RISE with SAP offering. The SAP Basis Consultant for BTP will manage, monitor, and optimize SAP system landscapes, including traditional on-premises Basis activities and cloud-native operations within the SAP BTP ecosystem. This role bridges classic SAP Basis responsibilities with modern BTP capabilities such as integration, with cloud applications such as Success factors, Ariba, MBC, SAP IAS, Concur and Fieldglass. 
Proven experience in production support activities, ensuring timely resolution of Incidents and Service Requests, prioritization of work, and adherence to SLA and ITSM processes.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

• Collaboration and Support:
  Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, functional consultants and business users.
  Provide technical support and resolve incidents promptly.
• SAP BTP Operations:
  Manage services within the SAP BTP ecosystem, including Cloud Foundry, Integration Suite and Kyma.
  Monitor and troubleshoot BTP components like API management, workflow, and extension services.
• Security and Compliance:
  Implement SAP security measures, including user management, role-based access control, and data encryption.
  Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  Work closely with Auditors.
• RISE with SAP Implementation:
  Understand and align client requirements with RISE offerings, including bundled services like SAP BTP, SAP Business Network, and embedded analytics.
  Provide guidance on subscription-based licensing and operational model changes.
  Open the Service requests with ECS team and monitor the Private Cloud Workspace.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  Coordinate with SAP and third-party vendors for issue resolution and system updates.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and leveraging new features in RISE offerings.
  Enhance and monitor the existing scenarios and provide continuous improvement as and where applicable.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  Monitor integration processes to ensure seamless data flow and address errors or delays proactively.
  Strong knowledge in monitoring tools like CALM and Solution manager technical monitoring.
  Strong experience in SAP Fiori troubleshooting.

What you should expect in this role

 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Over all experience should be more than 9+ years of experience.
• 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
• Strong knowledge of SAP BTP services and capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and integration capabilities.
• Proficiency in SAP cloud solutions, including SAP Integration Suite, HANA Cloud, Cloud Foundry, Cloud Connector.
• Integrate SAC Analytics cloud with S/4.
• Expertise in SAP system installations, upgrades, and performance tuning.

• Architect new SAP basis solutions on BTP.
• Experience with APIs (REST, SOAP), OData services, and IDocs.
