This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and ownership of end-to-end service architecture and delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native services, driving engineering best practices, and mentoring teams. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js
• Develop cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, and related infrastructure
• Take full ownership of the software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Architect and implement microservices and event-driven systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following TDD and best engineering practices
• Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and architectural guidelines
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions
• Lead system design discussions and ensure scalable, resilient architecture decisions
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback across teams
• Ensure observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting practices are implemented
• Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with a focus on continuous delivery

Qualifications :-

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for backend systems
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability
• Drive design and development of distributed systems and RESTful APIs
• Develop and maintain AWS-based infrastructure and serverless applications with Lambdas
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
• Define best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management
• Ensure proper documentation of systems, architectures, and processes
• Collaborate with leadership and product stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
• Support production systems, ensuring uptime, reliability, and incident resolution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to event streaming systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, etc.)
• Prior experience leading large-scale cloud migration or transformation initiatives
• Exposure to security best practices in cloud-native applications
• Experience working in high-scale, high-availability systems

Education and/or Experience: -

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 12+ years of experience in backend development
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js
• Experience designing and building microservices architecture
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, especially Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, DynamoDB/RDS
• Experience with serverless architectures
• Proficiency in REST APIs, distributed systems, and scalable application design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Experience with source control systems (e.g., Bitbucket/Git)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• An Engineering degree or equivalent and a minimum of 12+ years of related experience
