FACTORY / PRODUCTION Manager

Role Objective

To lead and manage end-to-end factory operations of a Roll-to-Roll Self-Adhesive Digital Label Manufacturing focused on short-run, high-mix digital label production, while building structured, system-driven processes that ensure scalability, consistency, and reduced dependency on individuals.

Candidate Profile (Must-Have)

• Hands-on experience in digital printing environments
• (preferably roll-to-roll label printing / narrow web / HP Indigo / Konica Minolta AccurioLabel type)
• Proven ability to manage multiple short-run jobs daily (20–50 jobs/day environment)
• Strong understanding of Short run Roll to Roll Digital Printing dynamics like –

-         Production planning & scheduling

-         Job sequencing & changeover optimization

-         Fast turnaround workflows

• Experience in team handling, problem-solving, and process setting as well as improvement
• Practical, execution-focused mindset with ability to work hands-on on the shopfloor

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute 20–50 short-run jobs daily with proper prioritization
• Optimize job sequencing to minimize changeover time and machine idle time
• Ensure all jobs are production-ready (artwork, materials, approvals) before release
• Monitor daily production to ensure on-time completion and dispatch
• Ensure alignment and coordination between Sales, Prepress, Production, and Dispatch to avoid delays and miscommunication

2. Digital Printing Operations

• Oversee operations of digital label printing press and associated finishing processes
• Ensure smooth workflow across Prepress → Printing à Finishing
• Monitor and control –

-         Setup time

-         Wastage

-         Toner / click consumption

• Ensure consistent output quality, especially for repeat jobs
• Ensure proper print-to-finish alignment and coordination with finishing processes

3. Workflow & Changeover Efficiency

• Manage a high-mix, low-volume production environment
• Continuously reduce job changeover time between SKUs
• Standardize workflows for faster and error-free execution

4. Quality Control & Assurance

• Ensure first-time-right production to minimize reprints
• Maintain strict control over –

-         Color consistency

-         Registration accuracy

-         Finishing quality

• Identify root causes of errors and implement corrective actions
• Ensure production output meets customer expectations and brand requirements consistently

5. Systems & Process Development

• Develop and implement structured production systems and workflows
• Establish and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across –

-         Job planning

-         Printing

-         Finishing

-         Quality checks

• Ensure operations are system-driven rather than person-dependent
• Implement job tracking and production visibility systems
• Drive data-based decision making using –

-         Production metrics

-         Wastage reports

-         Efficiency tracking

• Continuously identify gaps and upgrade systems for better speed, accuracy, and scalability

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and manage operators, helpers, and QC team
• Build a culture of –

-         Accountability

-         Discipline

-         Ownership

• Train team to handle multiple short-run jobs efficiently with minimal errors

7. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
• Improve –

-         Output per day

-         Workflow efficiency

-         Resource utilization

• Bring new ideas, production methods, and industry inputs

8. Inventory & Material Management

• Ensure availability of required substrates, toners, and consumables
• Maintain optimal inventory for high-mix, low-volume production
• Minimize wastage and avoid dead stock

9. Turnaround & Delivery Management

• Ensure adherence to committed delivery timelines
• Handle urgent jobs without disturbing overall workflow
• Maintain high on-time delivery performance

10. Reporting & Production Control

• Ensure accurate collection, compilation, and maintenance of production data
• Maintain structured reporting on –

-         Jobs completed

-         Wastage

-         Machine utilization

-         Rejections & Re-prints

• Track and improve key KPIs –

-         On-time delivery (%)

-         Jobs per day

-         Reprint rate

-         Downtime

11. Ownership & Accountability

• Take complete ownership of daily production output, quality, and delivery commitments
• Responsible for decision-making on job prioritization, sequencing, and execution
• Accountable for achieving defined production KPIs and operational targets
• Understand and control cost implications of reprints, wastage, and inefficiencies

• Purely supervisory or coordination roles without hands-on execution
