Job Summary:

Responsible for setting up and operating lathe machines to machine metal components with high accuracy while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. (Digital Government of India)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines.
• Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, grooving, and taper turning operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Set up workpieces, cutting tools, chucks, and fixtures.
• Select appropriate cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Measure finished components using Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and quality guidelines.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of lathe machine operations.
