Position Overview:

Boeing India Engineering is currently looking for an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Chennai, India. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a global team working on providing ME solutions to a wide range of Boeing products and services across the world. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization. 

A successful candidate will lead the preparation of build plan, author assembly work instructions and implement standard works. The position would focus on working closely with global teams to ensure the assembly work instructions are defined most efficiently thereby ensuring best value for our customers. This position also offers opportunities to be part of integrated project teams on the manufacturability and producibility of design definitions. Job Responsibilities:

• Author build plan for Aircraft Structural assemblies, Systems and Payloads.
• Create Installation plan in CAPP/MES and Author work instructions.
• Lead the implementation of  Standard works in assembly operations for Boeing products
• Ensure the prevailing Installation plans are audited and meet the defined standards.
• Continuously review the existing assembly process and drive process improvements 
• Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
• Assist in the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies
• Support technical reviews addressing non-conformances and perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to a manufacturing process.
• Supports the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.
• Execute DFM and producibility studies for new product introductions.
• Participates in the implementation of manufacturing plans. Investigates technical problems. 
• Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
• Ensure compliance to company quality management system requirements.
• Interfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering role. 
• 7+ year of related work experience in aerospace / production industry. Experience with Commercial aircraft platforms is desirable.
• Experience with Aerospace / Mechanical assembly Manufacturing, Fabrication, Assembly Processes and Technologies.
• Experience with creation of manufacturing planning and authoring assembly work instructions.
• General Drawing Interpretation & GD&T knowledge.
• Knowledge of Aerospace Materials and Processes.
• Aware of manufacturing execution systems like CAPP/MES, IPDM.
• Working knowledge with CATIA/NX Modelling software’s.

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferably in Aeronautical/ Mechanical / Production Engineering.

Typical Education & Experience:  

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 7 years' related work experience).
