PROJECT ENGINEERING MANAGER

Experience : 16-22 Years of Experience in Oil & Gas Projects Electrical Substation Engineering & Management

Objective:

As an Engineering Manager (EM), the person shall ensure that the engineering activities of the project takes place smoothly, correctly and within stipulated time. EM must lead whole team (All relevant disciplines like Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, Technical Safety, HVAC, C&S, Power System Study etc.,) to carrying all engineering works and provides necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with contract specifications/data sheets and within budgeted manhour and project schedules. 

 Key Responsibilities: 

• She/He shall coordinate with Project Planning Manager and ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule. She/He shall network with respective Project Managers/Construction Managers on optimizations / alternate proposals / solutions / Field change proposals for the issues raised during the execution of the project
• She/He shall coordinate with the customer and various stakeholders involved in the project to get the approvals for the Engineering Deliverables. She/He shall be responsible for the preparation of Engineer Change Note (ECN)/Design Change Note (DCN), Technical Query (TQ), and for final As-builts documents.
• She/He shall be familiar about Change Management. Change management can be due to changes in scope, specification & time schedule etc., which shall be managed as per the provision in the Contract.
•  Conduct regular project review meetings and ensure adherence to schedule.
• Conduct internal review meetings for resource optimization, allocation and enhance productivity.
• Review of designs, calculations & drawings and ensure their timely submissions for obtaining approvals from customer.
• Clarification of issues w.r.t. vendors and ensuring timely delivery of materials at project site and Capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time.
• She/He is expected to strengthen the communication/synergy between site construction team and EDRC (i.e., Design) team. She/He will be thinking both design aspects and cost aspects for execution.
• Clarification to inter – discipline Managers for sorting out issues w.r.t. design aspects of the equipment.
• Enable & review accurate estimation in terms of quantity for submission of Bill of Materials.
• Review critical issues and procedural delays w.r.t. design aspects of equipment and extend support to Site Execution teams.
• Settle procurement issues and extend support to Supply Chain management for ensuring order finalization for Vendor Engineering.
• Extend support for BOQ, review of pre-bid offers and technical submissions & provide post-tender clarifications (after clarification from vendors) to the contracts team.
• Review Vendor evaluation (w.r.t. technical specification requirement of the client).
• Extend support to Site Execution Teams for commercial issues & processing of invoices.
• Participation in finalization of vendors/subcontractors.
• Keep senior management and other routinely informed of project status and all developments that effect schedule, safety, and reputation through regular reports.
• Submission of reports and updates of progress on daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Highlighting the bottlenecks and finding the alternate solutions.

Vendor Management:

• EM shall have end to end responsibility and intervene wherever required for unlocking the deadlock issues. She/He will interact with suppliers/vendors/OEMs and arrange virtual meetings between engineering team/construction team and OEMs for resolving the issues raised during the execution of the project.
• She/He shall be responsible for the evaluation of Technical Specification/Material Requisition/RFQ for all electrical equipment items and preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE).

Software Skills Required: 

• Having good knowledge on ETAP/PSCAD/EMTDC for Power System Studies and CDEGS for Earthing design and CYMEGRD.
• Excellent in MS office, Discipline Specific Software’s & Applications.
