Site Engineer

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Site Management & Supervision: Overseeing daily on-site activities, including setting out works, surveying, and directing contractors, subcontractors, and laborers to follow blueprints and technical drawings.
• Quality Control (QC): Conducting quality checks, such as testing concrete cube strength, checking steel reinforcement spacing (bar bending schedule), and ensuring proper plumbing/electrical layouts before closing work.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Maintaining daily site diaries, tracking project milestones, and creating progress reports for project managers or clients.
• Material and Resource Management: Estimating, ordering, and managing the inventory of construction materials to prevent shortages, while ensuring high-quality materials are used.
• Technical Issue Resolution: Troubleshooting technical issues and resolving design discrepancies in the field to minimize delays.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring all site personnel adhere to health and safety regulations (OSHA, local standards) to prevent accidents.
• Liaison & Coordination: Coordinating with architects, structural engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth communication and structural integrity

Common Skills Required:

• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blue prints, structural drawings, and technical specifications.
• Software Knowledge: Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, MS Office, and structural modeling software.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong skills in managing teams and resolving conflicts.
• Problem-Solving: Quick thinking for on-site troubleshooting.
