What does a successful Data Engineer do at Fiserv?

As an Ab Initio Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing data integration and data warehousing solutions for our clients. Your extensive expertise in Ab Initio, a powerful ETL tool, will be instrumental in designing, building, and supporting robust and scalable data integration workflows.

What you will do:

• Design and implement Ab Initio graphs to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data, ensuring accurate and efficient data integration.
• Build high-performing data applications that meet business requirements for accuracy and speed.
• Optimize performance, address bugs, and improve data availability and accuracy.
• Monitor Ab Initio jobs, troubleshoot issues, and conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks.
• Utilize schedulers such as CA7, Autosys, or Control-M to orchestrate seamless data operations.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to provide technical expertise and solutions for complex business problems.
• Develop reusable assets and create a knowledge repository.

What you will need to have:

• 6-8 years of experience in designing and deploying enterprise-level data applications.
• Strong proficiency in ETL, specifically Ab Initio and UNIX Shell Scripting.
• Familiarity with database concepts and advanced skills in SQL for querying and manipulating data using databases like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and familiarity with cloud databases like Snowflake or Redshift.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and techniques for developing dimensional models and schemas.
