PRINTING OPERATOR (OFFSET)

Designation: Senior Printing Operator (Offset)

Machine: Komori GL-37 / LS-40 – Six Colour with Coater

Department: Printing

Reporting To: Production Manager / Printing Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage Komori GL-37 / GL-40 six-colour offset printing machine with coater independently.
• Ensure proper machine setup, including plate mounting, blanket setting, ink and dampening adjustments.
• Achieve accurate colour matching as per approved shade cards, proofs, or customer specifications.
• Monitor and control print quality parameters such as registration, colour consistency, dot gain, and coating quality.
• Handle UV / aqueous coating operations and ensure proper drying and finishing quality.
• Reduce paper wastage, ink consumption, and machine downtime by efficient operation.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of the machine.
• Identify and troubleshoot printing defects and machine issues during production.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, GMP, and quality standards as per ISO / BRCGS requirements.
• Coordinate with Pre-Press, QC, and Production teams for smooth job execution.
• Maintain daily production records, job cards, and machine logs.
• Ensure safe handling of inks, chemicals, plates, and solvents.
• Guide and supervise junior operators/helpers during shifts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and safety.
