Position: Design & Development Engineer – Flat / Round Wire Harness

Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design & Development Engineer with experience in Flat and Round Wire Harness design. The candidate will be responsible for developing wiring harness solutions as per customer requirements, preparing technical drawings, coordinating with production and quality teams, and ensuring successful product development from concept to mass production.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop Flat & Round Wire Harness assemblies as per customer specifications and standards.
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings, harness layouts, schematics, BOMs, and routing plans.
• Develop harness architecture considering electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
• Selection of wires, connectors, terminals, sleeves, tapes, grommets, and other harness components.
• Create and maintain engineering documents such as:
• BOM (Bill of Materials)
• Process sheets
• Drawing revisions
• Technical specifications
• Control plans
• Coordinate with customers for design clarification, engineering changes, and approvals.
• Work closely with production, quality, procurement, and tooling teams during prototype and production stages.
• Conduct feasibility studies and support cost optimization activities.
• Support new product development (NPD), sample preparation, and validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and automotive quality requirements.
• Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of harness-related issues.
• Support APQP, PPAP, ECN, and change management activities.
• Maintain project timelines and ensure timely completion of development activities.
• Required SkillsGood knowledge of Flat and Round Wire Harness design concepts.
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Zuken, Capital Harness, or similar design software.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, and wiring standards.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes of wire harness assemblies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
