Job Description
Position: Cafeteria Manager
Location: Pragya-II, GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat
Department: Food & Beverage Operations
Reporting To: Operations Manager / Management
Salary Range: Up to ₹40,000 per month (Based on experience and qualifications)
About the Cafeteria
We are launching a modern corporate cafeteria in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, with a seating capacity of approximately 160 guests at a time. The cafeteria will cater to corporate professionals, business visitors, and employees within the business district. Our focus is on delivering quality food, efficient service, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Cafeteria Manager will be responsible for the overall management and smooth functioning of the cafeteria operations. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage food service teams efficiently while maintaining quality, hygiene, and profitability standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily cafeteria operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure timely preparation, display, and service of food and beverages.
- Monitor service quality, food presentation, and customer experience.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Management
- Supervise cafeteria staff including supervisors, cashiers, service associates, and kitchen support staff.
- Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters.
- Conduct training programs on customer service, hygiene, grooming, and operational standards.
- Monitor employee performance and maintain discipline.
Customer Service
- Ensure prompt and professional service to all customers.
- Address customer feedback, suggestions, and complaints effectively.
- Maintain a welcoming and customer-focused environment.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement requirements.
- Control food costs, wastage, and inventory consumption.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and maintain inventory records.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
Hygiene & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across dining, kitchen, and storage areas.
- Conduct regular inspections and corrective actions where required.
- Ensure all staff follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor daily sales and revenue reports.
- Maintain operational records and reports.
- Assist management in budgeting and cost optimization.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for smooth operations.
Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, or related field preferred.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cafeteria, food court, restaurant, or corporate food service operations.
- Prior experience in managing high-volume food service operations preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and cafeteria operations.
- Inventory and cost control management.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, billing/POS systems).
