FABRICATION DESIGN ENGINEER

A Static Equipment Design Engineer at a heavy manufacturing company (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, tanks) is responsible for the complete mechanical design, simulation, and drafting of equipment. Key software skills include PV Elite for pressure calculations, AutoCAD for GA drawings, and SolidWorks for 3D modeling.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Calculation: Perform mechanical design calculations using PV Elite or Compress to establish pressure vessel wall thicknesses, nozzle reinforcements, and flange ratings, ensuring compliance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2, TEMA, and API codes.
• 3D Modeling & Drafting: Generate detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings (General Arrangement - GA) using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, including weld details, Bill of Materials (BOM), and nozzle schedules.
• Material Selection: Select materials based on pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance requirements (ASME Section II).
• FEA Analysis: Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as Ansys or NozzlePro to validate designs for localized stresses.
• Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with production teams to address fabrication, welding, or material issues, ensuring the design adheres to quality standards (QC).
• Documentation: Prepare Manufacturing Data Reports (MDR), technical specifications, and purchase requisitions (PR) for bought-out items
