What you’ll do
As a Risk & Controls Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the NatWest Markets Conduct Risk agenda, partnering with the business to secure effective risk management within appetite. You’ll support the application of the operational risk framework, helping to identify, assess and manage conduct risks while strengthening governance and control environments across the bank.
Working closely with stakeholders across the first and second lines of defence, you’ll help identify, report, manage and mitigate emerging risks and securing alignment with evolving regulatory expectations. You’ll also support the execution of key conduct risk processes, including conflicts of interest, breach management and records management, helping to embed a well-governed control framework.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Developing and supporting the interrogation and analysis of relevant management information, enabling effective risk management by stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of guidance notes and training materials, upskilling the broader first line of defence and business teams
- Supporting the facilitation of stakeholder meetings and key forums, including preparing materials and assessing regulatory impacts
- Building and maintaining trusted working partnerships across the bank and franchises to gather intelligence on emerging and future risks and controls
- Supporting Responsible Risk Leads in the design, implementation and facilitation of controls, securing alignment to EWRMF guidance
- Partnering with Risk & Control teams to monitor, assess and analyse controls, risk issues and trends, strengthening the overall control environment
- Providing independent challenge and expert guidance to stakeholders to make sure risks are effectively understood, managed and aligned with risk appetite

You’ll bring experience working in a first or second line of defence risk role and demonstrate a strong understanding of how a large financial services organisation operates.
You’ll also bring:
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality outcomes in a risk or control-focused environment
- Strong knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, including risk assessment and scenario analysis methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the capability to manage large data sets and produce meaningful outputs
