Job Title: Purchase Manager

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain

Location: Agni Motors, Bengaluru

Reports To: Operations Head / Managing Director

Role Purpose

To develop and execute procurement strategies ensuring availability of materials, components, consumables, and services at competitive cost, high quality, and optimum lead times.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Vendor Management

Identify, evaluate, select, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, fabricated parts, tools, and consumables.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

Maintain approved vendor list with performance metrics (Quality, Cost, Delivery – QCD).

Develop long-term partnerships and ensure alternate vendor development for critical items.

Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

Coordinate with production and stores to forecast and plan procurement requirements.

Track PR–PO–GRN cycles to ensure timely availability of materials.

Monitor delivery schedules and resolve supply delays.

Cost Control & Sourcing Optimization

Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, bulk sourcing, and supplier consolidation.

Conduct market research and benchmark pricing.

Prepare procurement budgets and spending forecasts.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure purchased materials meet quality specifications.

Coordinate with QA for supplier audits, inspection, and NCR resolutions.

Ensure compliance with ISO/TS16949 procurement documentation.

ERP & Reporting

Process purchase requisitions, generate purchase orders, and track order statuses in ERP.

Maintain accurate PO records, agreements, and supplier documents.

Generate MIS reports: purchase cost analysis, vendor scorecards, lead-time reports, price trends.

Required Skills

Strong negotiation and vendor development capabilities.

Familiarity with local and global sourcing.

ERP proficiency and supply chain analytical skills.

Good communication, relationship management, and decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain/Mechanical/Automobile.

• 8-10 years of purchase/sourcing experience in manufacturing.
