Job Description
About the Job:
We're looking for a passionate and student-focused Academic Counsellor to join our growing Study Abroad team. In this role, you'll guide students through every stage of their international education journey—from selecting the right course and university to supporting them through the application process.
As the first point of contact for aspiring international students, you'll play a key role in understanding their academic goals, providing personalised guidance, and helping them make informed decisions about studying abroad. You'll work closely with students, parents, university partners, and internal teams to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience.
If you're an excellent communicator who enjoys helping students achieve their dreams while working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
- Provide one-on-one counselling to students interested in pursuing higher education abroad.
- Assess students' academic backgrounds, career aspirations, and financial considerations to recommend suitable universities, programs, and study destinations.
- Guide students through the complete admission process, including course selection, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and deadlines.
- Assist students in preparing and reviewing application documents such as Statements of Purpose (SOPs), resumes, and other required documentation.
- Educate students and parents about admission requirements, scholarships, tuition fees, accommodation, and career opportunities.
- Maintain regular follow-ups with prospective students and nurture leads through the admissions journey.
- Coordinate with admissions, documentation, and visa teams to ensure timely application processing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and university representatives.
- Keep up to date with international education trends, university requirements, visa policies, and scholarship opportunities.
- Maintain accurate student records and update CRM systems with counselling notes and application progress.
- Achieve individual counselling, application, and enrollment targets while delivering an exceptional student experience.
Your Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Master's degree is a plus).
- 1–3 years of experience in Study Abroad Counselling, International Admissions, Student Recruitment, or Education Consulting.
- Strong understanding of international education systems, university admissions, and application processes.
- Knowledge of popular study destinations such as the UK, USA, Canada, Russia, Australia, Georgia, Nepal, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Central America, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan
- Familiarity with English language proficiency tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo English Test.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal, counselling, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple student applications while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Sales, lead management, and conversion experience will be an added advantage.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about helping students achieve their international education goals.
- A confident communicator with excellent counselling and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and committed to delivering an outstanding student experience.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Goal-oriented with the ability to achieve counselling and enrollment targets without compromising on ethics or service quality.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic and supportive workplace.
- Curious and eager to stay updated with changing admission processes, visa regulations, and global education trends.
If you're excited about making a meaningful impact on students' futures while growing your career in international education, we'd love to welcome you to our team.
