Laboratory Incharge- Quality Assurance
Role Summary: The lab in-charge will be responsible for ensuring top-quality standards in manufacturing processes. He/She will be responsible for managing and supervising all laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, ensuring that laboratory results are reliable, standards are met, and safety protocols are followed.
Roles and Responsibility:
Quality Assurance Oversight: Ensure that PVC pipes meet industry standards (e.g., IS, ASTM, ISO) through systematic testing.
Compliance Management: Maintain adherence to regulatory and certification requirements for BIS License and Projects.
Lab Operations: Manage day‑to‑day testing activities, allocate tasks to technicians, and ensure timely completion.
Equipment Management: Oversee calibration, maintenance, and proper usage of testing instruments (e.g., UTM, impact testers, hydrostatic pressure machines).
Inventory Control: Track and manage chemicals, reagents, and consumables used in testing.
Safety Protocols: Enforce lab safety standards, especially when handling chemicals or high‑pressure testing equipment.
Quality Audits: Conduct internal audits, implement corrective actions, and support external audits for certifications.
Team Building & Supervision: Train lab manpower on testing procedures, safety practices, and documentation standards.
Client Interaction: Participate in site trials, provide technical support, and gather customer feedback for product improvement.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, maintain test records, and provide feedback to production teams.
Coordination with Production: Work closely with Production to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Requirement:
Plastics Engineering from CIPET (PGD-PPT) / any other educational as institutions as educational qualification.
3-5 years’ experience in quality management. Female candidates are preferred.
Strong Knowledge of PVC testing, regulatory requirements for certifications like BIS, IAPMO NSF, NABL, etc
Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and implementation.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes of plastic pipes and pipe fittings
Expertise in RCA and CAPA to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Effective trainer with the ability to educate plant personnel on quality concepts.
