Job Description – Packaging Associate

Department: Packaging Operations

Role Summary

The Packaging Associate is responsible for accurately packing products using automated and semi-automated packaging machinery, ensuring every package is properly filled, sealed, labeled, and meets the company's quality standards before dispatch.

• Key Responsibilities: Operate packaging and sealing machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Fill products into pouches using the designated machinery while maintaining accurate weight and quantity.
• Ensure every pouch is properly sealed with no leaks, wrinkles, or incomplete seals.
• Perform quality inspections on packed products, including:
• Correct product and packaging material.
• Accurate fill weight.
• Seal strength and seal integrity.
• Proper barcode, batch number, and date coding.
• Clean, undamaged, and presentable packaging.
• Remove and report defective or non-conforming products immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the packaging area, equipment, and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and FSSAI guidelines throughout the packaging process.
• Record production quantities, rejected units, and machine-related observations as required.
• Assist in machine setup, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.
• Work closely with supervisors to achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Required Skills: Basic understanding of packaging machinery and equipment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to identify packaging defects and take corrective action.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: High school (10th/12th) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food packaging, manufacturing, or production is preferred but not mandatory.
