Job Title: R&D Principal Technologist

The job  

This role owns the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure—from successful production deployments to ongoing environment maintenance, health, and operational excellence—while maintaining proactive stakeholder communication and supporting broader delivery coordination across teams.  

 

Key responsibilities 

• Own production deployment execution for cloud infrastructure changes across AWS/Azure.
• Coordinate deployment readiness checks (approvals, dependencies, rollback plans, change windows).
• Lead go-live activities and confirm successful production implementation.
• Monitor cloud environment health, performance, alerts, and resource utilization post-deployment.
• Manage ongoing maintenance activities: patches, updates, security hardening, and configuration optimizations.
• Maintain environment stability through proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting oversight.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, identify root causes, and coordinate remediation with teams.
• Optimize cloud resource allocation, scaling policies, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain deployment and operational logs, reports, and stakeholder communication records.
• Support execution planning across multiple workstreams, including milestone tracking, risk/dependency management, and status reporting.
• Help align teams on priorities, timelines, and delivery commitments to ensure smooth initiative execution.

 Essential requirements

• Experience managing production cloud deployments and ongoing environment operations in AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Ability to manage cross-team coordination under tight timelines.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills (written, verbal, and leadership updates).
• Strong risk management, incident escalation, and follow-through discipline.
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and cloud operations.
• Experience supporting delivery governance, cross-functional planning, and execution tracking.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and supporting operational issues in production environments.

Desired skills and competencies

10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of experience on above mentioned key responsibilities.

Knowledge on Cloud platform services, preferable AWS/Azure

Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, IaC, and cloud operations.
