Senior FinOps Engineer

FinOps Lead is responsible for end-to-end ownership of continuous FinOps services, ensuring sustained cost optimisation, governance, and financial accountability across Azure environments in line with NTT FinOps delivery standards. 

This role combines strategy, governance, and operational oversight, ensuring that FinOps is embedded into engineering and business processes.

• Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive NTT continuous FinOps lifecycle (Inform → Optimise → Operate)
• Establish and govern:
• • FinOps operating cadence
• • Runbooks and playbooks
• • SLA-driven optimisation backlog execution
• Ensure ongoing alignment with FinOps best practices and governance models.
• Define and drive:
• • Commitment strategy (Azure Reservations, Savings Plans)
• • Workload optimisation frameworks.
• • Cost-efficient architecture guidelines.
• Govern execution of optimisation opportunities identified by L3 teams.
• Ensure optimisation outcomes are realised and sustained.
• Define and implement:
• • Chargeback / Show back models.
• • Budgeting and forecasting frameworks
• • Cost allocation strategy (tagging, subscription hierarchy)
• Drive financial accountability across business units
• Lead development of:
• • Policy-driven cost control mechanisms
• • Auto-remediation frameworks
• • Creating various required dashboards and experience billing data modelling
• Define architecture for:
• • FinOps tooling 
• • Integration with enterprise systems.
• Act as single point of ownership for FinOps outcomes
• Present:
• • Executive dashboards
• • Cost optimisation roadmaps
• Engage across:
• • Finance
• • Procurement
• • Engineering leadership
• Drive FinOps maturity progression across organisation
• Track optimisation backlog and closure efficiency
• Mentor and guide L3 FinOps engineers
• Lead enterprise-level FinOps reviews and decision forums

• Required Skills & Experience

• Must have Led FinOps operation for large scale Cloud estate.
• Hands on expertise in Azure cost management and optimisation.
• Multi-cloud FinOps exposure is an added advantage
• Proven experience in designing and operationalising FinOps models.
• Apptio / Cloudability / CloudHealth / Flexera / custom FinOps tooling
• Strong knowledge of:
• Azure services and cost drivers.
• Azure subscription, management group, tagging, and cost allocation design.
• Enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Automation using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or policy-as-code
• Experience influencing business + finance + technical stakeholders

• Certifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner (Mandatory)
• Azure certifications (Architect / Administrator) preferred
