IT ERP System Specialist

Job Summary:

The ERP Support Specialist will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the company’s ERP system. This role ensures the ERP system operates smoothly, addressing technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize business processes. The specialist will work closely with end-users, IT teams, and external vendors to provide effective support and implement system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the ERP system to ensure stability and high availability.

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for all ERP-related technical issues, providing prompt diagnosis and resolution.

·        Perform regular system audits, backups, and updates to maintain data integrity and security.

·        Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and implement system enhancements or customizations.

·        Monitor system performance metrics and troubleshoot bottlenecks or errors.

·        Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls within the ERP environment to safeguard sensitive data.

·        Develop and deliver training sessions and support materials to empower end-users.

·        Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and support activities.

·        Coordinate with ERP vendors and external consultants for issue escalation, patches, and upgrades.

·        Identify and recommend improvements for automated workflows and system integrations.

·        Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory standards concerning ERP data and operations.

·        Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure system resilience.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.

·        Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting or administering ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.

·        Solid understanding of ERP architecture, database management, and user support processes.

·        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.

·        Familiarity with business functions including finance, supply chain, and HR modules.

·        Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with both technical teams and business users.

·        Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

·        Proficiency in SQL and basic scripting is an advantage.

·        Certifications related to ERP platforms are preferred.

Technical Skills:

·        Deep knowledge of ERP systems architecture, configuration, and deployment (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or others).

·        Proficiency in database management and querying languages such as SQL to analyze and manipulate ERP data.

·        Hands-on experience in Crystal Reports for designing, developing, and customizing MIS and business reports.

·        Expertise in troubleshooting complex ERP system issues including software bugs, integration failures, and configuration errors.

·        Strong understanding of system integration techniques, including APIs, middleware, and third-party connectors.

·        Experience with ERP upgrades, patch management, and version control.

·        Ability to customize ERP modules and workflows to align with business needs.

·        Familiarity with network infrastructure and security protocols relevant to ERP systems.

·        Knowledge of scripting and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance system efficiency.

·        Skilled in managing user roles, permissions, and access controls to maintain data security and compliance.

·        Experience in ERP system backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Problem-Solving Skills:

·        Analytical mindset to diagnose root causes of ERP system outages or performance degradation.

·        Ability to evaluate disparate data sources and logs to pinpoint technical issues swiftly.

·        Strong decision-making skills to prioritize and resolve ERP problems with minimal business disruption.

·        Proactive approach to identify potential risks and implement preventative measures.

·        Capacity to translate technical challenges into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders.

·        Persistence and resourcefulness in escalating complex issues to vendors or technical teams when necessary.

Additional Preferred Skills:

·        Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL for structured incident and problem management.

·        Experience with cloud-based ERP solutions and hybrid deployments.

·        Certifications in relevant ERP platforms or project management methodologies.

·        Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards affecting ERP data.
