Senior Technician – Mechanical Testing (Metals & Alloys)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technician to lead and execute mechanical testing on a wide range of metals, alloys, and structural components. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in destructive testing methodologies and a thorough, hands-on understanding of NABL (ISO/IEC 17025) guidelines. You will ensure the highest level of accuracy, repeatability, and compliance in a fast-paced commercial testing environment.

1. Technical Execution & Testing: Independently operate mechanical testing equipment (Universal Testing Machines, Hardness Testers, Impact Testers, etc.)
2. Perform a comprehensive suite of mechanical tests on metallic materials strictly adhering to national and international standards (ASTM, ISO, IS, BS, etc.):
3. Tension & Proof Load Testing (Yield strength, UTS, elongation)
4. Bend & Flattening Tests (Ductility and weld assessments)
5. Hardness Testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers)
6. Impact Testing (Charpy and Izod V-notch/U-notch at ambient and sub-zero temperatures)
7. Torsion & Wrapping Tests (Wire and rod assessments)
8. Ensure precise sample preparation (machining, dimension checking, notch cutting) in coordination with the workshop team.
9. NABL Compliance & Quality AssuranceMaintain rigorous compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards across all laboratory operations
10. Methodically document raw data, maintain observations logs, and calculate test results accurately.
11. Identify, document, and report any non-conformances (NC) or out-of-specification results to the Lab Manager.
12. Assist in the estimation of Measurement Uncertainty (MU) for mechanical test methods.
13. Equipment & Lab Management: Oversee the daily verification, periodic calibration, and preventative maintenance of all testing machines and measuring instruments.
14. Supervise, guide, and train junior technicians and trainees on safe testing protocols and NABL documentation.
