1) Job Description – Junior Engineer (Mechanical)(Electrical)

Position: Junior Engineer – Mechanical, Electrical

Location: Storm Water Pumping Station Site

Reporting To: Plant Incharge / Site Incharge

Role Summary:

To assist in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems at the storm water pumping station, including pumps, valves, gates, piping, and related equipment, ensuring reliable performance during monsoon and non-monsoon periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in day-to-day operation of pumps, valves, mitre gates, and other mechanical equipment.

Monitor pump performance, vibration, noise, leakages, temperature, and abnormal conditions.

Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of pumps, motors (mechanical side), valves, bearings, couplings, pipelines, and gate mechanisms.

Support pump start/stop sequencing as per operational logic and instructions from Plant Incharge / MCGM officials.

Ensure equal running hours of pumps and DG-related mechanical systems as directed.

Maintain daily logbooks for pump operation, maintenance activities, defects, and repairs.

Coordinate with electrical team during pump operation and shutdown activities.

Ensure all tools, spares, lubricants, and consumables are available and properly used.

Attend emergency breakdowns during monsoon on priority basis.

Follow safety procedures during operation, maintenance, confined space work, and lifting activities.

Assist in maintaining records as per MCGM formats and site requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Diploma / ITI + relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering.

2–5 years of experience in pump house, water treatment plant, sewage/storm water pumping station, or industrial maintenance.

Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, pipelines, bearings, lubrication, and rotating equipment.

Ready to work in shifts and emergency monsoon operations.
