Process Overview*

The Balance Sheet Management (BSM) - Treasury Analytics and Forecasting (TAF) team is part of the Chief Financial Officer organization and performs analysis and finance support for Corporate Treasury positions. This includes providing executive management with accurate and timely analysis of the balance sheet, net interest income (NII), and non-interest income across actuals and forecast. The team provides support for the corporation’s ALM portfolio which includes Debt Securities and various derivatives used to manage the company’s interest rate risk.  Additionally, the team provides finance support for other treasury activities including BOLI and hedging of non-qualified deferred compensation. 

This position will specifically focus on various types of debt securities and associated interest rate risk hedging programs.  Responsibilities include daily review and reporting of portfolio results with a focus on hedge performance, and ad-hoc trade analysis in support of treasury activities.  Our business partners include the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) team, Balance Sheet Management, Capital, Liquidity and Accounting Policy.

Job Description*

Balance Sheet and Management (BSM) is a division within the CFO group responsible for providing executive management with accurate and timely forecasts of the balance sheet and net interest income (NII). Another critical function is the measurement and analysis of Interest Rate Risk (IRR) using various methods. This information provides the framework that allows the company to position its balance sheet consistent with its risk appetite and expectations for changes in interest rates.

BSM maintains close partnerships with various groups across the enterprise, providing key input to critical processes and strategic decisions. These partnerships focus on the following: (1) balance sheet composition and interest rate risk strategy, (2) strategic planning for the company’s three-year outlook with Corporate Planning and Finance, (3) setting the right strategy to accurately measure the profitability of assets and liabilities to ensure efficient usage of the balance sheet, (4) stress testing the balance sheet under adverse economic scenarios with the Global Stress Testing team and, (5) producing the balance sheet and NII forecast and supporting liquidity calculations in coordination with Global Liquidity Management

This job is responsible for managing balance sheets, balancing risk and stabilizing returns. Key responsibilities include determining and executing on stakeholder business requirements, leveraging discretionary assets, liabilities, and modern balance sheet instruments. Job expectations include pursuing operational excellence, recommending process improvements, decreasing operational risks, and providing analytics such as, Net Interest Income (NII) and yields.

Responsibilities*

• Intercompany and legal entity forecasting
• Daily, monthly, and quarterly monitoring of balance sheet and net interest income across Actuals and Forecast for intercompany assets and liabilities
• Project management and change execution on key initiatives around forecasting and analytics
• Partnering with key internal stakeholders including Global Funding (GF), Enterprise Capital Management (ECM), Global Liquidity Management (GLM), Global Risk, and Accounting Policy among others

Foundational skills*

• This role will require direct communication with business partners. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and translate into business solutions and intellectual curiosity
• Working knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel skills: We leverage data warehouses which require working knowledge of SQL and working with large amounts of data in excel. Ideal candidate is expected to use advanced Excel functions and create executive level summary reports
• Finance Support Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Accounting, Quantitative Analytics, or Economics
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment
• Data analysis and reporting experience
• Technical and ET skills to drive OpEx (Power Query, SQL,  Python a plus)

Desired skills

• Experience analyzing fixed income securities and interest rate derivatives
• CFA (or pursuing CFA), or CPA a plus
