Senior Specialist - Architecture
Job Summary
The BCPDR Specialistarchitect is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure organizational resilience during disruptions This role involves risk assessment creating response strategies and testing recovery solutions to protect critical business operations and assets
Key Responsibilities
1 Business Continuity Planning
Develop implement and update comprehensive Business Continuity Plans BCPs tailored to business needs Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses BIA to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure business functions are aligned with continuity objectives
2 Disaster Recovery
Design and implement disaster recovery DR strategies and procedures for IT systems and critical operations
Oversee DR testing exercises to validate recovery capabilities and address gaps
Maintain DR documentation ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements
3 Governance and Standards
Establish architectural principles guidelines and standards
Create maintain and update BCP and DR plans ensuring they address evolving business needs and risks
Ensure compliance with security regulatory and operational requirements
4 Testing and Validation
Lead the design and execution of regular BCPDR testing including tabletop exercises simulation drills and failover tests
Evaluate testing outcomes identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in recovery strategies
Document test results and provide recommendations for corrective actions
Required Skills and Qualifications
Expertise in cloud platforms AWS Azure Google Cloud and hybrid architectures
Proficiency in designing microservices APIs distributed systems and 3tier application architecture
Experience with DevOps practices and tools eg CICD pipelines containerization
Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder management skills
