We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer, a Marsh Business. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Specialist – Investments (Data Management)

As part of our Global Data Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the transformation of our data capabilities globally.

We will count on you to:

• A solid understanding of the Capital Market Domain, including middle and back-office functions is required, knowledge of the front office is plus.
• Ability to perform data analysis, identify data challenges, and provide insights using domain knowledge to address these challenges in the short and long term.
• Experience in developing and proposing functional designs to automate manual processes.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions and generate extract/reports.
• Familiarity with designing data models and defining data architecture schema is necessary.
• Proficiency in data processing and working with data warehouse/big data environments is essential. Strong knowledge of Excel/VBA and experience with languages like SQL is required.

What you need to have:

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience working in a team supporting relevant functions.
• Knowledge of Investment Management application modules such as Data warehouse, DATAMART, and reporting tools is essential.
• Proficiency in Advance Excel, Word, PowerPoint is preferred. Experience with Visio and process flow mapping is desired.
• Familiarity new data from external/internal sources is desirable.
• Exposure to project management tools like Jira Kanban and Confluence is desirable.
• Experience in creating test cases, including negative testing and regression testing, is a plus.
• Familiarity with unit funds/NAVs and understanding of fund structure, share classes, asset classes, etc., would be beneficial.

• Understanding of Data Management routines & procedures.
• Understanding of the financial services industry, specifically Investment Accounting.
• Understanding of the software product management lifecycle and/or investment performance measurement and analysis.
• Experience of business process improvement in asset management – for example, performing data investigations to determine root cause of data quality issues.
• Expertise and demonstrated experience of Eagle Pace or similar applications.
• Strong SQL skills and a basic understanding of relational models are highly beneficial.
