Fire Lead
Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of fire prevention & protection procedures across plant operations in line with site EHS standards.
- Maintain compliance with statutory regulations, local fire authority requirements, and insurance standards.
- Develop and enforce fire safety policies, SOPs, and audit frameworks.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies for inspections, approvals, and certifications.
- Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard identification (HIRA), and vulnerability analysis across manufacturing areas (Cell, Module, Utilities, Warehouse).
- Ensure elimination/minimization of fire hazards through engineering and administrative controls.
- Drive fire safety integration in new projects, expansions, and modifications (greenfield/brownfield setups).
- Ensure availability, reliability, and uptime of all fire protection systems:
- Hydrant systems, sprinklers, detection & alarm systems
- Gas suppression systems, extinguishers, foam systems
- Plan preventive maintenance and ensure timely inspection, testing, and certification.
- Coordinate repair/replacement of defective systems with engineering teams.
- Establish and lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Develop and implement on-site emergency plans and fire drill schedules.
- Lead incident command during fire emergencies and ensure quick containment.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure employees and fire response teams are trained in fire prevention and emergency response.
- Conduct mock drills, awareness sessions, and competency assessments.
- Build a strong fire safety culture aligned with Adani OHS&E excellence standards.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits (OHS, insurance, statutory).
- Report fire safety performance metrics, incidents, and corrective actions to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for zero-fire-incident targets.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Projects, and Security teams to ensure fire safety integration.
- Support departments in compliance with fire safety procedures and inspections.
Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech (Fire/Safety/Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent
- Certifications: Diploma in Fire & Safety / Industrial Safety preferred
- Experience:
- 10–15 years in fire safety management
- Experience in large-scale manufacturing (solar, semiconductor, chemical, heavy industry preferred)
- Strong exposure to fire systems, emergency response, and statutory compliance
