Deputy Manager - Engine

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. As the Deputy Manager - Engine at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will spearhead crucial initiatives to enhance cost efficiency by meticulously managing man cost and driving productivity improvements on the assembly line. Your expertise will be essential in implementing robust cost reduction strategies focusing on minimising scrap, consumables, and labour costs without compromising quality.
  2. Your responsibilities include comprehensive departmental budget planning, ongoing monitoring, and ensuring cost targets are met regularly. Achieving a Service Parts Return (SPR) improvement exceeding 90% will also be a key deliverable, reflecting your commitment to excellence in quality and service.
  3. Leveraging your analytical skills, you will conduct thorough defect data analyses, instigate effective countermeasures, and monitor market complaint trends to proactively resolve issues. A strategic leader, you will guide the Assembly manufacturing team in achieving superior control over Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (PQCDSM) parameters, ensuring on-time product delivery aligned with planning forecasts.
  4. Cross-functional coordination is crucial; thus, you will collaborate with internal departments, external stakeholders, and vendors to identify and implement continuous improvements. You will be instrumental in managing the establishment of new products and their transition into mass production phases, fostering seamless integration and operational excellence.
  5. Maintaining a rigorous training schedule for both workers and staff will form part of your operational duties, focusing on skill development and adherence to best practices. Daily manpower management will require your adeptness at resolving conflicts promptly and cultivating a positive, motivated workforce.
  6. In your role, you will drive team inspiration and oversee performance reviews, ensuring that individual contributions align with organisational goals. Conducting detailed gap analyses on production, quality losses, and equipment breakdowns will enable you to implement corrective actions swiftly. Moreover, synchronization of parts across multiple models will be closely managed to optimise assembly line efficiency and inventory utilisation.

Education Qualification

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background with a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree, particularly specialising in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. This educational foundation equips you with the technical knowledge necessary to excel in engine manufacturing and related assembly processes.

Your qualifications should demonstrate a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application in engineering principles, which forms the basis for effective decision-making and leadership in manufacturing environments.

Additional certifications or training related to manufacturing process optimisation, quality control methodologies, or project management will be advantageous and reflect a commitment to ongoing professional development.
