Injection Moulding Setter Cum Operator – Plastic Spoons (Die Change & Production In-charge)

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month (in-hand) + overtime

Experience Required: 3–5 years in injection moulding (plastic spoons / disposable cutlery preferred)

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastic Technology, or Tool & Die

About the Role

We are a plastic spoon manufacturing unit looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter who can independently handle die changes, run smooth production shifts, and ensure every spoon comes out defect-free — no burrs, no sharp edges, no cuts, no flash.

You will be the person responsible for the machine and the mould. If production stops or quality drops, you fix it.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete die (mould) changeover on injection moulding machines independently — fitting, alignment, clamping, water line connections, and trial shots

• Set and optimise machine parameters: barrel temperature, injection pressure, holding pressure, cooling time, clamp force, and cycle time

• Ensure spoon quality — no flash, short shots, burrs, sharp edges, sink marks, warping, or colour variation

• Identify root cause of defects and correct them on the spot (mould issue vs. parameter issue vs. material issue)

• Carry out daily preventive maintenance of machines and moulds — cleaning, greasing, checking ejector pins, parting line inspection

• Coordinate with helpers and packers to meet daily production targets

• Maintain shift production reports, rejection records, and material consumption logs

• Handle minor mould repairs and polishing; coordinate with tool room for major repairs

• Train and supervise machine helpers

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience on horizontal injection moulding machines (80–180 ton range)

• Independent die change capability — should not need supervision

• Strong knowledge of PP (polypropylene) processing for disposable cutlery

• Ability to read and understand mould drawings

• Defect troubleshooting on running production

• Knowledge of auto-ejection and robotic take-off (if applicable to your machines)

Good to Have

• Experience with multi-cavity moulds (spoon moulds typically 16, 24, or 32 cavity)

• Basic mould polishing and minor tool room work

• Knowledge of master batch / colour mixing ratios

Who Should NOT Apply

• Helpers or loaders without setter experience

• Candidates who have only operated machines but never changed a die

• Freshers (this role needs someone who can deliver from day one)
