Assistant Manager (Inside Sales – Edtech)
Role Overview
AM– Inside Sales (Edtech) will be responsible for driving admissions and revenue growth by managing the entire inside sales process for online university programs offered through the company’s EdTech platform. The role focuses on converting qualified leads into successful enrollments through consultative engagement, effective team leadership, and data-driven performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly and quarterly admission/revenue targets for assigned university programs.
- Manage and mentor a team of Academic Counsellors & Team Leads, ensuring consistent performance and productivity.
- Work on leads generated from various sources including digital campaigns, inbound inquiries, Outreach, and referrals.
- Drive the end-to-end sales process: lead qualification, counseling, objection handling, follow-ups, and closures.
- Monitor lead funnel metrics and implement strategies to maximize conversion rates.
- Ensuring all team members are properly trained on product & process. Doing dip check and taking corrective measures to ensure consistent performance of the team.
- Collaborate with different teams (Marketing, & Outreach) to provide insights on lead quality and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with university partners to stay updated on program offerings, pricing, and admission timelines.
- Prepare periodic performance reports (Daily, Weekly & Business Related) and forecasts for the management team.
- Doing admission reconciliation at the end of each month & getting acknowledgement from partner universities.
- Ensure adherence to sales processes, CRM hygiene, and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams of at least 10–15 members, preferably within EdTech or higher education companies.
- Having experience of promoting/selling Online Degree programs will be an added advantage.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a sales team.
- Excellent communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (Meritto, LSQ, Extraedge, Salesforce, or similar), MS Office suite & Omni Channel Diallers.
- Analytical mindset with comfort in working with data and metrics.
- Flexible to work extended hours or weekends as per business needs.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of admissions achieved vs. targets.
- Lead conversion ratio (Lead to Form, Form to Admission, Lead to Admission)
- Team productivity and adherence to process metrics.
- Maintaining Call Quality benchmarks & Compliances adherence
- Drop/Withdrawal %
- Accuracy and timeliness of sales reports
