Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing key accounts, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing sales across corporate, institutional, retail, and promotional merchandise segments.
The ideal candidate should possess strong sales acumen, relationship-building skills, understanding of apparel manufacturing, and the ability to independently handle end-to-end business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and acquire new B2B clients for customized apparel, uniforms, promotional merchandise, and fashion products.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, LinkedIn outreach, exhibitions, references, and market visits.
- Develop relationships with corporates, startups, educational institutions, distributors, retailers, gyms, cafes, restaurants, and event companies.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and revenue goals.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure repeat business.
- Understand client requirements and coordinate with internal teams for smooth execution.
- Handle negotiations related to pricing, timelines, and contracts.
- Resolve client concerns professionally and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Market Expansion & Strategy
- Identify new market opportunities and emerging apparel trends.
- Develop growth strategies for corporate gifting, uniforms, sportswear, activewear, and merchandise categories.
- Analyze competitor activities, pricing, and market positioning.
- Suggest new product opportunities and sales strategies to management.
Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, sourcing, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor order execution from inquiry to dispatch.
- Ensure proper documentation including quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and payment follow-ups.
Reporting & MIS
- Maintain accurate sales records and CRM updates.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasts.
- Track lead conversions and client retention metrics.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in apparel sales, corporate sales, merchandising, textile, uniform industry, or promotional products.
- A strong network in corporate, institutional, or retail sectors will be preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and target-driven personality.
- Good understanding of garment manufacturing, fabrics, printing, embroidery, and apparel customization.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, CRM tools, and presentations.
- Ability to travel for client meetings and business development activities.
