Job Description Of Azure DevOps ADO Admin

 

Core Responsibilities

1. System Administration

• Manage Azure DevOps organizations, projects, and users

• Configure permissions, access control, and security policies

• Maintain repositories (Git), pipelines, and artifacts

2. User & Access Management

• Add/remove users and assign roles (Admin, Contributor, Reader)

• Integrate with Azure Active Directory (AAD) for authentication

• Enforce governance and compliance policies

3. Process & Workflow Configuration

• Customize work item types (e.g., Epics, Features, User Stories)

• Configure boards, backlogs, and sprint settings

• Implement Agile, Scrum, or Kanban processes

4. Tool Integration

• Integrate Azure DevOps with tools like: o Jira o GitHub o SonarQube

• Set up service connections (Azure, AWS, etc.)

5. Monitoring & Maintenance

• Monitor system health, usage, and performance

• Manage backups and disaster recovery (where applicable)

• Ensure updates and best practices are followed

6. Security & Compliance

• Implement secure DevOps practices (DevSecOps)

• Manage secrets, tokens, and credentials

• Audit logs and access reviews Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps services (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Test Plans)
• Experience with:

o Git version control

o YAML pipelines

o Scripting (PowerShell, Bash)

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting

• Communication with developers and stakeholders

• Documentation and training abilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

• Experience in DevOps or system administration

Certifications like:

o Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expe
