Job Description

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Traffic Incharge / Fleet Operations Manager for handling day-to-day operations of car carrier trailers and drivers across India.

The candidate should have strong experience in:

  • Driver management
  • Vehicle placement
  • Dispatch planning
  • Trailer operations
  • Route coordination
  • Breakdown handling
  • Driver sourcing and retention

Candidate must have existing transporter and driver network within the automobile logistics industry.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesFleet OperationsManage daily dispatch and placement of car carrier trailers
  • Coordinate loading and unloading schedules
  • Ensure timely vehicle movement across routes
  • Track vehicles through GPS and driver communication
  • Reduce idle time and empty return trips
  • Maintain trip schedules and delivery timelines
  • Driver ManagementRecruit and arrange drivers for trailers/car carriers
  • Maintain backup driver availability
  • Handle driver attendance and discipline
  • Resolve driver disputes and emergency situations
  • Ensure drivers follow company SOPs and safety rules
  • Maintain driver records, licenses, and documentation
  • Transport CoordinationCoordinate with OEM yards, transporters, vendors, and clients
  • Plan routes for maximum fleet utilization
  • Manage detention, breakdowns, and emergency support
  • Ensure POD collection and trip closure
  • Coordinate with workshop and maintenance teams
  • Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all vehicles have:
  • Valid permits
  • Insurance
  • Fitness certificates
  • PUC
  • FASTag
  • Driver licenses
  • Maintain trip sheets and operational MIS reports
  • Cost ControlMonitor diesel usage and route expenses
  • Control toll and trip-related costs
  • Minimize penalties, delays, and idle running
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Required SkillsMandatory SkillsStrong knowledge of trailer/car carrier operations
  • Driver handling and recruitment experience
  • Route planning and dispatch coordination
  • Breakdown and emergency management
  • Transport documentation knowledge
  • Ability to work in 24×7 operations environment
  • Preferred SkillsExisting driver network
  • Knowledge of automobile logistics industry
  • GPS tracking system handling
  • Excel and reporting knowledge
  • Negotiation and crisis management skills
  • Experience RequiredMinimum: 5 years
  • Preferred: 7–10 years in:
  • Car carrier logistics
  • Trailer operations
  • Fleet transport
  • Automobile transportation
  • EducationAny Graduate / Diploma
  • Relevant transport operations experience preferred over degree
