Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control & New Product Development Executive – Food Industry
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports To: Managing Director
Key Responsibilities:
A. Quality Control & Food Safety
- Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene standards (GMP, GHP, FSSAI guidelines).
- Conduct raw material quality checks for ingredients such as millets, jaggery, oils, nuts, etc.
- Perform in-process quality checks during production.
- Ensure batch-to-batch product consistency in taste, texture, weight, and appearance.
- Maintain quality documentation, batch records, and inspection reports.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues or customer complaints.
- Train production staff on hygiene and quality procedures.
- Work towards continuous improvement in quality control systems.
B. New Product Development (NPD)
- Assist in developing new millet-based snacks and sweet products.
- Conduct trial batches and product testing.
- Document formulations, process parameters, and trial results.
- Improve existing products for better taste, texture, shelf life, and cost efficiency.
- Support nutritional labeling and product specifications.
- Coordinate with external labs for shelf-life and microbial testing where required.
C. Qualifications
- B.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science, or Food Processing
- 0–2 years experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred
