Job Description

This role is designed for a highly motivated engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience in precision component manufacturing. You will train under senior machinists and production managers, learning to operate, set up, and troubleshoot CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines.



Core Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation & Setup: Assist in the set-up, operation, and monitoring of CNC and VMC machines to produce high-precision metal components according to engineering blueprints.
  • Programming Basics: Learn to read and interpret 2D/3D technical drawings and gain foundational experience in editing or modifying G-code and M-code.
  • Quality Control & Inspection: Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Tooling & Fixturing: Learn how to select, install, and adjust appropriate cutting tools and work-holding fixtures for specific jobs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on CNC/VMC machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in cycle time reduction, scrap minimization, and continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects on the shop floor.
