Required Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of diesel and gas generator set systems, covering major components and subsystems. Strong command of 3D CAD modeling using Creo, experience with Windchill PLM, and working knowledge of SAP. Deep understanding of Sheetmetal design processes, material selection, and metal fabrication methodologies.
Role Requirements:
- Perform the design of components and subsystems of diesel and gas generator sets.
- Support in integration of components, subsystems and complete systems for generators set application.
- Perform basic calculations for sizing and selecting components and subsystems.
- Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings and assembly layouts using Creo.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain design data using Windchill PLM.
- Manage part release management in the PLM system.
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and component master data in SAP.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs.
- Conduct DFMEA and participate in design reviews to ensure robust and reliable product performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize sheet metal designs for manufacturability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Apply relevant industry codes and standards such as ISO, NFPA, EPA, IBC, ASME… etc.
Key Skills & Tools Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling including sheet metal and detailed component design.
- Experience with Windchill for PLM activities
- Working knowledge of SAP for managing engineering changes and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Familiarity with generator set components and subsystems such as engine, alternators, cooling system, fuel system... etc.
- Knowledge of mechanical system integration and assembly level design.
- Good knowledge of Sheetmetal fabrication process, materials, and GD&T practices.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
