Role Overview 

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) team. In this role, you will lead the design and evolution of a cloud-native Security Service Edge (SSE) platform that delivers secure, Zero Trust access to applications, SaaS, and enterprise environments from any device, anywhere. 

You will drive key technical decisions across components that enable Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), secure web gateway, and VPN-as-a-Service, helping modernize enterprise security by replacing traditional perimeter-based architectures with identity-driven, cloud-delivered solutions. 

What You’ll Do 

• Lead architecture and design of distributed systems
• Drive development of large-scale, scalable services
• Own critical system components end-to-end.
• Resolve complex production challenges.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions 

 

What You’ll Bring 

• 8+ years of experience in software/system design.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and scalability
• Deep proficiency in Go, Rust, C or C++
• Advanced knowledge of multithreading, databases, and system internals
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices
• Strong hands-on experience or deep understanding of secure access and security platforms, including:
• Authentication and authorization systems
• Identity-aware and policy-based access control
• Zero Trust architectures (ZTNA), SSE/SASE models 
• Ability to design and scale systems with security, performance, and reliability as first-class concerns 
• Proven ability to lead cross-team technical efforts and drive architecture decisions 
• Ability to drive AI-assisted engineering adoption at team level with strong judgment.
