Job Description
A Bridge Civil Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, analysis, inspection, construction supervision, and maintenance of bridges and related transportation structures. The role involves ensuring structural safety, durability, and compliance with engineering standards and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and analyze bridge structures using engineering principles
Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports
Conduct site inspections, surveys, and feasibility studies
Supervise bridge construction and rehabilitation work
Ensure compliance with safety codes, standards, and project specifications
Coordinate with architects, contractors, surveyors, and government authorities
Perform load calculations and structural assessments
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Inspect existing bridges for maintenance and repair requirements
Use engineering software for modeling and structural analysis
Review materials, construction methods, and quality control procedures
Resolve technical issues during construction activities.
