Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Executive to handle trademark filing, prosecution, and other IPR-related legal matters. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of trademark law and be capable of managing end-to-end trademark registration processes along with basic legal documentation and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct trademark search and availability checks before filing
- Draft and file trademark applications (TM-A) on the IP India / Trademark Registry portal
- Respond to examination reports, objections, and oppositions raised by the Trademark Registry
- Draft replies, affidavits, legal notices, and other IPR-related documents
- Track application status and ensure timely follow-up on pending matters
- Coordinate with clients to collect necessary documents and information
- Assist in trademark renewal, assignment, and rectification processes
- Handle trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings
- Liaise with the Trademark Registry, IP attorneys, and government authorities
- Maintain case files, records, and MIS reports of ongoing matters
- Stay updated with amendments in Trademark Act, Copyright Act, and related IP laws
- Provide basic legal support on copyright, patent, or other IPR matters (if required)
- Assist senior advocates/partners in court/tribunal matters related to IP disputes (if applicable)
Requirements
- LLB/LLM degree from a recognized university
- Knowledge of Trademark Act, 1999, and IPR laws
- Prior experience in a law firm/IPR firm/trademark attorney office preferred
- Familiarity with IP India online filing portal
- Strong drafting and legal research skills
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
