JOB DESCRIPTION – SOFTWARE TESTER / QA EXECUTIVE

1. Basic Details

Job Title: Software Tester / QA Executive

Department: IT / Software

Location: Surat

Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Experience Required: 1–3 Years (or Fresher with strong practical knowledge)

Salary Range: Depends on Interview

2. Job Purpose

To ensure all software systems, reports, and modules function accurately by identifying bugs, validating outputs, coordinating with developers, and ensuring timely resolution of issues while improving system performance and usability.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Testing & Quality Assurance

Test all reports, dashboards, and software modules before deployment

Validate data accuracy, formulas, calculations, and logic

Perform manual and basic automated testing (if applicable)

Check UI/UX issues and functionality gaps

Ensure error-free system performance before final release

B. Bug Identification & Reporting

Identify bugs, errors, mismatches, and system failures

Maintain a Bug Tracking Sheet (Excel / CRM based)

Clearly document:

Issue description

Screenshot / proof

Steps to reproduce

Priority level (High / Medium / Low)

C. Developer Coordination

Share bugs and issues with development team

Take regular follow-ups for bug fixing

Ensure all pending issues are resolved within timeline

Re-test fixed issues and confirm closure

D. Pending Points & Task Management

Maintain Pending Task Tracker

Create daily line-up of issues and priorities

Ensure no task remains unattended

Track status:

Pending

In Progress

Completed

E. New Requirements & Suggestions

Identify system improvements and automation opportunities

Suggest new features, reports, and process improvements

Coordinate with management & IT team for implementation

F. Training & Implementation

Provide training to internal team on software usage

Ensure smooth software adoption across departments

Create basic user guides / SOPs

Support users in case of system issues

G. Reporting & MIS

Maintain daily/weekly reports:

Bugs reported vs resolved

Pending issues

System improvement suggestions

Provide MIS report to management

4. Required Skills

Strong logical thinking and attention to detail

Basic knowledge of software testing concepts

Good understanding of Excel (formulas, validation, reports)

Ability to identify errors in reports/data

Good communication with developers & team

Problem-solving mindset

5. Tools (Preferred)

Excel (Advanced)

Google Sheets

Basic CRM / ERP software

Bug tracking tools (optional)

6. KPI / Performance Metrics

Number of bugs identified

Bug resolution time

Accuracy of testing

7. Reporting Structure

Reports to: IT Head / Management

Coordinates with: Developers, HR, Accounts, Sales Team

Continuous system improvement involvement
