Production Manager

Role Summary

The Production Manager will be responsible for end-to-end production management—from planning and manufacturing to dispatch and after-sales support. The ideal candidate will ensure strict quality compliance, robust cost control, and on-time delivery of industrial process machinery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cross-Functional Coordination & Engineering Review

• Inter-Departmental Liaison: Coordinate seamlessly with Design, Sales, Purchase, and Stores teams to align production goals.
• Drawing Readiness: Review technical datasheets and ensure manufacturing drawings are ready and approved on time.
• Material Requisition: Prepare Material Requisition Notes (MRN) based strictly on approved drawings and client confirmations.

2. Production Planning & Vendor Management

• Timeline Tracking: Plan, execute, and monitor production schedules to meet committed client delivery timelines.
• Make vs. Buy Decisions: Evaluate and decide between in-house manufacturing and outsourced fabrication based on capacity and cost.
• Vendor Operations: Select, onboard, and manage external vendors; actively monitor their manufacturing progress and quality.

3. Quality Assurance & Procurement Support

• Supply Chain Alignment: Ensure raw material availability and coordinate closely with the procurement team to prevent floor delays.
• Quality & Finishing: Maintain high standards of product quality, aesthetics, finishing, and alignment with exact engineering specifications.
• Client Inspections: Coordinate and lead factory acceptance tests (FAT), client inspections, machinery trials, and final dispatch readiness.

4. Documentation & After-Sales Support

• Project Records: Maintain organized project files, master drawing records, as-built drawings, user manuals, and quality reports.
• Site Support: Provide technical support for site installation, commissioning, and ongoing after-sales service.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in production, shop floor, or plant management, preferably within heavy fabrication or industrial machinery manufacturing.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and machining/welding standards.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional cross-functional coordination, vendor management, negotiation, and project tracking skills.
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering
