NOC Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

Network Monitoring

• Monitor network devices using tools like Zabbix, Cacti, and Observium 

• Identify issues such as link down, packet loss, latency, and bandwidth utilization 

Incident Management

• Troubleshoot issues like link down, latency, packet drops, and routing problems 

• Ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime and service impact 

Network Troubleshooting

• Diagnose issues related to: 

o Basic BGP routing 

o VLAN & Switching 

o IP addressing 

o Fiber link connectivity 

Configuration & Maintenance

• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and OLTs 

• Perform network upgrades and scheduled maintenance activities 

Escalation Management

• Coordinate with L1/L2/L3 teams and vendors 

• Escalate critical issues to higher support teams as required 

Customer Support

• Provide technical support to enterprise and ISP customers 

• Share ETR (Estimated Time to Restore) and regular status updates 

Network Documentation

• Maintain network diagrams and configuration records 

• Update incident reports and maintenance logs 

CRM Handling

• Manage customer tickets through CRM tools 

• Track and update issue status until closure 

Technical Skills

Networking Knowledge

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals 

• Knowledge of VLAN, STP, MSTP 

• Basic understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) 

• Familiarity with NAT and firewall concepts 

Device Experience

• Hands-on experience with: 

o Cisco 

o Huawei 

o MikroTik
