Interior Designer

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Interior Designer to guide clients from the initial space planning stages through to final execution. You will be responsible for translating client visions into functional, structurally sound, and visually striking realities. The ideal candidate has strong spatial awareness, deep knowledge of materials and building codes, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

 Client Consultation: Meet with clients to determine their needs, preferences, budget, and the intended purpose of the space.

 Space Planning & Concept Development: Create detailed layouts, mood boards, and 3D renderings to visually communicate the design concept.

 Sourcing & Selection: Specify appropriate furniture, lighting, flooring, wall coverings, fixtures, and color palettes.

 Technical Drafting: Prepare detailed blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications using CAD or BIM software.

 Project Management: Coordinate with architects, engineers, and general contractors to ensure the design is executed accurately, on time, and within budget.

 Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, accessibility guidelines (such as ADA standards), and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

 Proficiency in interior design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or 3ds Max).

 Strong understanding of space planning, ergonomics, and architectural drafting.

 Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, lighting design, and construction methods.

Soft Skills & Business Acumen

 Communication & Presentation: Ability to pitch ideas clearly and manage client expectations effectively.

 Problem-Solving: Quick thinking when unexpected structural or budget challenges arise on-site.

 Project Management: Ability to track timelines, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate multiple project phases simultaneously.

Education & Experience Requirements

 Education: A Bachelor's or Associate degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

 Certification: National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification is highly preferred and often required for senior positions.

 Experience: Typically requires 2–5 years of proven design experience, backed by a strong portfolio of completed residential or commercial projects.
